Remote Work from Colombia

Remote Work from Colombia

This isn’t a productivity hack. Just a real story from a week where I worked remotely, spent a day in paradise, and met the caribbean part of Colombia.

Getting There

To go to Colombia from my city in the south of Brazil, I needed to take a two hour bus to the state's capital, Porto Alegre. From there, I took a flight to São Paulo, and then another flight to Bogotá, and then another flight to Cartagena. Yes I know, it’s a lot of flights, and the most unconfortable one is the overnight from São Paulo to Bogotá because the seats don't recline a inch. But it’s a necessary evil.

Climate

While Bogotá was chilly, Cartagena was hot. And when I say hot I really mean it as a person that is used to four defined seasons. I was sweating the entire time I was there. The whole caribbean cost is like that, with exception of Baranquilla where the wind howls constantly.
